Why is this question asked?
We ask questions about people in full-time education to make sure we collect information for schoolchildren and students at both their term-time and home address. The term-time population is used to work out how some funding is given to local authorities.
Asking this question also helps us make sure that you are only asked appropriate questions in the census.
